How can I set LD_ASSUME_KERNEL under LFS?

I want to install a software and need to set LD_ASSUME_KERNEL to 2.4.1

under LFS. After typing export LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4.1 under shell, the

system is broken,I have to reset the LD_ASSUME_KERNEL variable.

How can I set LD_ASSUME_KERNEL under LFS?

Thanks for your help!

Are you trying to create a RedHat based system?
If so, are you having trouble with Yum or an RPM package?
