New FTP Issue

Hello All,

I have FTP up and running although it isn't what I would like it to be (see below), and I now have this issue. Users upload their files to their public_html directory, and somehow in the process it makes their file "read-only" for the owner and no one else, which makes their web file (index in this case) display as "access forbidden". I have to constantly go into an FTP client as them and set the permissions to "read only" for everyone and the page displays. I am using Suse Linux Enterprise Server 9.

Does anyone know what is going on, or what I have configured wrong? Thank you in advance,

AceMan

Please do not post the same thread in more than one forum. Picking the most relevant forum and posting it once there makes it easier for other members to help you and keeps the discussion all in one place.
