adding agent to startup / init's

Hi,

We are running Redhat Enterprise Linux 5.5.

I have an agent that was installed for a Compuware product.

The agent does not start automatically, and I would like to add it to the startup process. I cannot find a step by step process for this. I have much Solaris experience but little on RHEL. I am interested in the chkconfig command and wonder if this is the direction I should be heading. Any advice is appreciated.

If I need to give more information please let me know.

Thanks,

Look in your /etc/rc.d/init.d (/etc/init.d) directory? The SysV initscripts there might serve as example, else see http://www.cyberciti.biz/tips/linux-...p-service.html.
