Unable to start metacity Xserver on Yocto build

Trying to install a full X environment on a Zynq based board which has an embedded graphics engine. I added the following lines to my local.conf per a set of instructions I found on the web here

# to enable opengl feature
DISTRO_FEATURES_append = " opengl"
# to include mesa utils in the root fs, such as glxgears, glxinfo, ..
CORE_IMAGE_EXTRA_INSTALL += "mesa-demos metacity gsettings-desktop-schemas "
# to prevent X server for starting automatically at boot, this is recommended for now
VIRTUAL-RUNTIME_graphical_init_manager = ""

The X server starts fine but when I try to start the metacity window manager I get the following

root@zc702-zynq7:~# metacity
GLib-GIO-Message: Using the 'memory' GSettings backend. Your settings will not be saved or shared with other applications.

(metacity:1030): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: Settings schema 'org.gnome.metacity' is not installed

Trace/breakpoint trap

I have read many pages trying to find a solution with no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Does metacity actually start? if so these warnings can be ignored as it's just not able to find certain componants, you probably don't have full gnome install, glib and gio especially grumble about this sort of thing all the time.

Unfortunately it does not start and those are the only (cryptic) error messages I get. I will try to install full Gnome package to see if that helps.

Thanks.
