This release was focused on adding awesomeWM and i3WM to the installers in order to provide two new options to the installers list. Both are fully usable, with custom keybinds added to match the existing Lilidog keybinds as closely as possible. Awesome also has an installer option for the full conky setup as found in Lilidog openbox if interested.
i3 is currently setup to use polybar with window names, though the original i3statusbar is available for those who prefer it. Note that using polybar does remove some of the prompts normally associated with i3. This can be changed in the i3 configuration by commenting out polybar in the ~/.config/i3/config autostart section, and un-commenting the necessary lines for i3status use starting on line 236. Figuring out how to best address this issue is still a work in progress.
This concludes the addition of the tiny window managers for now, providing a decent mix to choose from, including awesomeWM, dkWM, dWM, i3WM, and soWM, with and without borders. Further efforts will be focused on improving Lilidog in general for the next release or two. Further development of these WM's will continue as well, and will not require a reinstall of the distro to experience the changes. Stay tuned to the forum for updates on any of these. You will be able to reinstall through the installers, and a backup will be made.
There are also new dialog options to install the different window managers. The installers can be found in the Lilidog installers under "system", or in Beardog, under the 'utility installers', or, there is also a new general entry in the "System" section of the full menu (debian) labeled as 'Window Manager Installers'.
As Beardog does not have a login manager out of the box, after installation of any of the WM's, you will need to edit ~/.xsessionrc and change the entry from openbox to whatever you have installed, or want to use, if installing multiple WM's. The other option is to install a login manager. Lightdm has a custom installer available in the utility installers, and in the welcome screen after installation of the distro.
The use of these installers instead of directly placing them in the distro gives more control over what is included in your system, the way you want it.
Also included in this release are two minor fixes. One to the conky 12 hour to 24 hour toggle, which will now include the existing large clock on the right of the screen when activated, and a change to the display adjustment icon in the bottom panel while in a VM session, making a single click on the button fix the display issue that occurs after changing the resolution, while a right click on the same icon gives access to the resolution changer.
As usual, please let us know of any questions or issues you may have.
