Angry Gentoo install failing every time

Hi!

After 4 unsuccessful attempts to install Gentoo 2005.0, I'll soon start ! Every time I get to unpacking Portage, I get a lot of no space left on device messages. I have tried ext3 and reiserFS, but it keeps failing. I'm sure it's enough space, because I've just partitioned and formatted 40GB. I've just got a new disk, could it be the problem?

Please answer before the computer becomes smashed!

I had this problem and it was because i didnt mount the drives properly. Look carefully at the section that goes through /mnt/gentoo etc. I think this is where your problem lies.

I finally got the Portage unpacked and installed. But now I have a problem with emerge. When I tried to download gentoo-sources, I got a lot of errors saying temporary failure in name resolution. I'm a Gentoo newbie, so I have no idea how to fix this

Have you got any ideas???

then your dhcp server isn't sending out the DNS servers when it assigned you an IP. Either create it or possibly renew the IP address (dhcpcd eth0)

resolv.conf should look like this

nameserver x.x.x.x
nameserver y.y.y.y

Usually you'll have two or more.
