unable to open display "192.168.1.45:0.0"


Dear all,

I am getting the following error when trying to export the remote machine to local display,

First i login to the remote server using telnet

and usiong the following comamnd i try to export the display

# export DISPLAY=192.168.1.45:0.0
unable to open display "192.168.1.45:0.0"

and on the remote server only telnet is allowed for us and we can't to ssh

Can someone tell me how to solve the issue
my os is fedora 7

Where are you receiving this message, client or server? I'm assuming the server. Anyways, in addition to setting the DISPLAY environment variable on the client, you need to allow the client to make a connection to the server.

On server type:

xhost +<ip address of client>
