Installation problems with Real Audio Player and gtk2
I've had problems installing realplayer, so have deleted the folder in which my previous installation was (keeping the installation log, which indicated that no files were installed elsewhere).
Now I'm trying to use the rpm. When I open it with Kpackage, I am faced with the following report:
<home/usaideoir/Desktop/Riomhaireacht/RealPlayer10GOLD.rpm';echo RESULT=$?
error: Failed dependencies:
gtk2 is needed by RealPlayer-10.0.8.805-20060718.i586
/bin/sh is needed by RealPlayer-10.0.8.805-20060718.i586
RESULT=1
I'm running Kanotix (a form of Debian) on a Toshiba Satellite Laptop.
For /bin/sh could I just place a folder in /bin by the name "sh"?
But gtk2? There does not appear to be anything by that name available for debian. There's gtk, and there's gtk+, but not gtk2
Failing that (knuckles turn white) I suppose I could also go the "/.configure - make - make install" route but I can't even find the files to do that.
I'd really like to have a functioning copy of realplayer on my computer, but it's looking unlikely.
Has anyone had any luck with realplayer in wine?
