Ctrl + E doesn't come through after modifying xkb symbols file

Hello,

after finishing modyfing my own xkb-file in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols "CTRL + E" doesn't work anymore:
I tried using it in all major browsers, it's like I'm not pressing it at all. When I hit Ctrl+E in a Terminal window, the cursor becomes transparent (in contrast to full, I hope you get what I mean), so it does get detected at least by the system.
All other Ctrl-combinations work as usual. It's just Ctrl+E, as far as I can tell.

The added keymap entries look like the following, but it doesn't matter what they are, I also tried using another keymap (default) file and it still didn't work.
Quote:
// Return + At
key <AD04> {[ r, R, Return, at]};
// Escape + Euro Sign
key <AD03> {[ e, E, Escape, EuroSign]};
As a note: In the past I have changed the file multiple times and it was always successful.
It probably doesn't have to do with the file at all, but it's the last thing I remember changing on the system.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be the problem?

Edit: I tried logging in and out, restarting all browsers, rebooting the computer, to no avail.

Edit 2: I kept poking around and narrowed the problem down:
After setting a default keymap and then logging out and back in, CTRL+E was back again!
But once you activate the broken keymap I made, there is no coming back. It stays broken until you login with a proper keymap file.

So this line is the problem:
Quote:
key <AD03> {[ e, E, Escape, EuroSign]};
After commenting it out, it works. But I'm still lacking the feature I wanted in the first place.
So what's the problem with that?
