I guess not. More than what you think. There is a saying in Hindi " Ek bevakuf dhundo, hazar milenge". So this ratio of smart:dumb has to be 1:1000.
Edit:
Well Tink, I understand the rules. I do abide by them. But the sayings and the proverbs are usually language ridden and lose their worth if translated. So I would keep the original and translate it for other as well.
The saying means:
"Look for one idiot and you will find thousands."

Rep:
It seems kind of ridiculous that the rules state English only.
It should be all languages other then English have to have an English translation on the same post.

Of course even you are entitled to a view on this.
And how do we (the mod team) know that the Chinese or more
obscure language posting is indeed saying the same as the
supposed translation? For all we know people may be posting
something legit in English and a spammed advertisement in
their local tongue.
And no, the onus of trying to find a translation for each
and every post is not acceptable practice.
I fully agree with you Tinkster, but you know, I have seen many posts in general forum where members do talk in Italian and no one complains !
Feel free to report those. LQ is, to a large extent, community
driven. The mod-team (or at least I don't think we can, I know
I don't have the time, the mileage of other mods may vary) simply
can't check every single post that pops up on LQ.
The fact that I picked this one up is that this thread is
on my list that I follow because I previously posted - I'm
NOT trying to discriminate against Indians (or their language(s)).

There is no need to get angry here!
I just remembered those Italian posts and commented casually ! I never doubted your intensions.

I'm not angry. No exclamation marks, no bold text, no frowny
smilies ... ;} I'm just explaining why this one got
a comment (and the Italian ones you spotted didn't).
