Injected myself into a political debate - something I almost never do.

OOPS! I did the same thing in a thread earlier. Praise Bob for the unsubscribe button.

On topic: I'm posting this from Slackware with Gnome and NetworkManager is working perfectly thus far! <does happy dance and plots destruction of Ubuntu's partitions>

Listening to Bob Dylan's "Positively 4th Street". Contains the greatest put down of all time.

I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
And just for that one moment
I could be you

Yes, I wish that for just one time
You could stand inside my shoes
You'd know what a drag it is
To see you

Nah, from Don't Think Twice: I ain't saying you treated me unkind, just that I could have done better, but I don't mind. You just kinda wasted my precious time. But don't think twice, it's all right.

Praise Bob!

I'm falling in love with my laptop thanks to Slackware and the Gnome Slackbuild Project. Anything I ever like about Ubuntu is now sitting on top of the speed and flexibility of Slackware!

Well, I hope you'll be very happy together, and start breeding lots of little netbooks.

I just realized how cool ssh really is......well I'll probably realize later how much cooler it is when I learn to do something else with it.

In konqueror
Code:
fish://me@my_other_machine/something_in_another_room
or in gnome just click "connect to server".

Or from a terminal
Code:
ssh me@slack1 cat /remote/file > /destination/file
Very cool!

I never really appreciated Gnome until I put it on Slackware. It's got some real nice features and it gets me thinking outside my box. "If I can do this in Gnome and another way in KDE then there has to be a way to do it from the terminal!"

In other words, what am I doing?
Playing with Slack
