You mean ready, I think. Ripe has quite a different connotation
in the English language, more in the direction of spoilt meat.

:D

Mind you, maybe it's fitting? It could have been intentional.

Wait. Hold on a minute. I know the answer to everyone's doubts, wishes, faith, religion... You'll find out who's right and who's wrong when you die, so believe in what you want to, the answer is waiting when you take that final breathe....

I really hope it's a completely ridiculous cult with an acceptable hell policy, so we don't need to suffer to much, just so I can point and laugh at all the guys here who thought they were getting to hang with Jesus. Of course I don't want to be right. That would suck.

Tinkster, you can stop dissecting every word I say now. Unless you want to keep debating. But since your whole argumentation is built upon the assumption that I am an idiot, I don't think that it will be going anywhere.

YOU are the one dissecting sentences, not me. But I agree, it's
quite impossible to argue with you because of that nasty habit of
yours, and I'd appreciate if you could stop it. I'm not assuming that
you're an idiot at this stage, I think that you're playing silly buggers
on purpose to annoy people who happen to be religious because you
think THEY are idiots.

Tink

Only problem with mine is, well, you're just dead. You don't exist anymore. So no pointing and lauging saying.. "I told you so.. I told you so..." but you know what, I'm perfectly fine with that, cause well, I'll be dead and won't know any better anyways..

C'mon Tricky ... :}

I won't argue with you and your view of the world, because mine is a
matter of faith, and hence can't be proven (or proven wrong, for that
very reason). Oskar is trying to beat Christians on their own turf, and
performing rather badly.

He's using polemics, trolling techniques like quoting stuff wrong, changing
the subject, giving partial responses. None with too much success as far
as I'm concerned.

No hugging here as far as I'm concerned :}

Tink

I don't think you're an idiot, I think you are purposely ignorant.
And I like to keep it at a low intellectual level, because I'm a lazy person. The questions I asked about God when I was 12 are still valid today... So why not keep asking them. I don't think I need to go any deeper as long as no one has the answers.

Are you even reading what you're writing? "How can I know what I think
before I hear what I say" could be your motto.

I'm "purposely ignorant." because I'm trying to keep the level of
discussion mature? While you're happy to dabble on the level of a 12
year old and refute answers that you can't understand?

Not for me. In the case of foods, ripe usually means ready to eat, particularly for fruits. oskar in this case is using it in a correct manner, where ripe means fully prepared for.

I was trying to bring some humor into this with my last post. The world is very diverse. There are a lot of people with many different religions out there. There are people like oskar and there are people like you. I think as a Moderator, it's time to just stop replying and moving on and not fall into the game he's playing with you at this point.

This is one reason why we usually don't tolerate religious debates or threads here, people take them too personal.

As for you oskar with your last comment/reply, now that's just uncalled for. I'll ask now that you stop replying to this thread altogether. Debate religion but don't call others ignorant, which apparently you did.

Shall we close this thread? It certainly now is hanging on the last thread..

PS. Tinkster, Jesus would give him a hug from what I remember when I was a Christian at one point in my life..

Benefit of the doubt? He's a German native speaker.

Depends. If he thought it was like the cleansing of the temple where
he kicked their tables over and them out of the temple ... ;}

But then what will you tell God that you just lived by his bible "just in case". To me, that's not really believing in something, that's just covering your own ass and I really wouldn't consider that "faith". You should rethink that phrase, cause I was asked that myself in one point of my life and it really made me think about it after I became aware that if you really believe in something, well, you should believe in it, not just do it in case there's a god or whatever.

I'll just say this, if I were a god and wanted people to worship me. All those who did it just cause they weren't for sure or did it just in case I really did exist, they'd be turned around at the gate or whatever I use to border my heaven..
