Originally posted by Maqo Mace, where did you get your background? Very nice...
can't remember, i look for it if you'd like a copy.
as far as lots of programs open, for me it's because my machine stays on 24/7 and there are different things i do at different times. so if i don't finish today then maybe tomorrow or the next day.

Is it because of the need to show the theme being used or because Linux can have that many programs opened?
It's the need to look cool! Just kidding, I try to at least minimize my apps when I do my screenshots, unless of course I am trying to capture something specific, along with the background.
Sometimes though, I am just too lazy, or not thinking, and just shoot off a screenshot with everything up and running (usually have about 10 things going at once: Several IM clients, several Eterms, many browsers, email, audio, some video, some video processing, gkrellm, cd burning, P2P, root-tail and so on).
? I am pleased with many windows or none, I just meant that's how I do it To each their own, I think life would be boring if everyone did things exactly the same as say, me. I enjoy threads like this, not because I think everyone should have my exact same desktop, but rather to see the variation of linux users. That would include how they take a screenshot
guess you could use glade to get that window up (if you are referring to the macewan loves java window) i just used netbeans. took less than 20 seconds to create.
As you can see, Nautilus is, quite frankly, f*cked. Any ideas on how to remove that grey background so I can see my desktop image would be greatly appreciated.
