LOL I know! The transparency thing is being used a lot. That's why I didn't use it on my screenshot. I strive for a clean looking yet interesting desktop.

That's a very nice, clean lookin KDE shot. Aussie uses the marbel icon set as well, it's truly a cleaner look than some of the others.

Cool

I just installed SuSE 8.1 last week (first time linux user) and I'm not really into decorating my desktop, nevertheless...

It's not like I made the screenshot all for you ya know. alot of people try and tell me that linux has a horrible gui environment, it's made more for them.

Knight, who are you talking to/what about?

Screenshots are just that, screenshots. To each their own, and luckily so. Here is the thread to show how "to each their own" actually works in practice, and then to share it with everyone. If someone doesn't like something, don't play. If someone thinks someone's shot sucks, why mention it?

BTW, anyone looking for a new background should check out Dnar's thread over in General. He's got a gallery that is truly amazing.

Cool

Got that background from Dnar's website. Really, a great bunch of pics over there. If you haven't checked it out you should.

Whoa! I do believe that's the first shot of that wm I've seen. Is that:
http://www.icculus.org/openbox/ ?

I might just have to give that one a run for it's money. Thanks!
