flux is the best window manager out there IMO at least. Great simplicity and great looks without the footprint.

wahay...don't you just love these "my-desktop-manager-/-window-manager-is-better-than-yours" threads .

My personal favourite is windowmaker, because it's lighter than most I've tried.

Oh, and a link to my screenshot?
http://www.andrewho.co.uk/snapshot.png
sorry it's not a <link>, but I'm using the quick reply

[edit]
apparently it comes up as a link

Gotta love 'smart' boards

Ok, I'm getting ready to take a plunge here, and upgrade quite a few things, so I figure it's worthy to note my last screenshot before everything possibly goes south, sorta, documentation

Yeah, almost makes me want to convert

Flux, Slack, Gkrellm, root-tail, captured with ksnapshot

Cool

Yeah, I use that instead of desktop icons, much faster, plus I have the slit on auto hide, always on top, completely makes the desktop icon theory dead.

Excellent tool I might add! I couldn't live without GKrellm!

Cool
