I want to get a vending machine, with fun sized candy bars, and the glass in front is a magnifying glass. You'll be mad, but it will be too late.

Never has our future been more unpredictable, never have we depended so much on political forces that cannot be trusted to follow the rules of common sense and self-interestforces that look like sheer insanity, if judged by the standards of other centuries. I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Referring to democracy, "The will of men is not shattered, but softened, bent, and guided. Men are seldom forced by it to act, but they are constantly restrained from acting. Such a power does not destroy, but it prevents existence. It does not tryannize, but it compresses, enervates, extinguishes, and stupefies a people, until each nation is reduced to be nothing better than a flock of timid and industrious animals, of which the government is the shepherd." Alexis de Tocqueville

"Justice cannot mean a prison sentence for a teenager who steals a car, but nothing more than a sideways glance at a C.E.O. who quietly engineers the theft of billions of dollars."-United States Senator Elizabeth Warren

Thanks to cousinlucky for reminding me of a favorite from Ms Warren, a true progressive

Enorbet, Senator Warren reminds me of some of the catholic nuns I was exposed to as a child in that her principles and her life are one in the same!! Such people are married to " right and wrong " at the hip; they do not " bend " their adherence principles for any reason whatsoever; not for relations, nor money, nor power, Nothing!! It is heartwarming to know that such human beings still exist among our dysfunctional species!!
