Rightly said - I want my rant to be heard miles away . Can we have a special section where we can battle and flame each other - in a good and a constructive way? I mean comeon we have been here for years now and I know which people are sysadmins, programers and clowns (me included).
There are some really good programers here and I would love to talk to them but it seems like they do not check their friends request and I do not want to post requests in the open.....
What am I blabbering... I will take my medicines now and sleep.

As lumak suggested you can try starting a social group for non - violent rants and the make an announcement here : http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hnical-groups/

and you can have a warning sign there too: "Entry restricted for thick skinned people"

I do not mind a violent rant group as well till you restrict your violence to your computer. You can hit it the way you want to. I am a clown.

I lived in this circumstance some years ago. We couldn't afford heating oil, so in between 5Gal jugs of diesel fuel, we used the oven. We also then hung an oscillating desk fan from the ceiling in front of the open oven, to expand the oasis, but the fan melted from drawing the hot air through it. Not recommended.

If the heat went out = no gas, no electricity, I would get my axe, go to the forest (2-3 min away) and cut some lumber, bring it back and start a fire, preferably in an oven, but if not, then in something fire resistant. I'm not going to freeze to death, just because of someone else's incompetence.

Technically I have a petrol-powered generator, but I doubt it can produce enough power to work the heaters.

I think that technology is the answer to all problems. Just look a bit at all the animals in nature, they are all miserable, diseased, hungry, scarred, and mad. All these parasites and diseases and the harshness of the environment ... there is no need for it. Without technology, life would be far more hellish. Technology can overcome disease, hunger, madness. However, it can also be used to enslave and bend people to another's will. Use it for good.

I see it as pointing out the existence of the rep feature to newbies, not so much begging for points.

He's already getting too big. I told my wife that we need to have another once this one turns 1 or so. She didn't like that idea.

I actually considered doing that, but decided against it.

Yes, it was a joke. I agree with you.
