I got 815 watt 6.1 ch home theater system with a 5 disc dvd changer and receiver and I also got a bbgun. But ofcourse the star attraction is my BBgun.

Now I can shoot people. Just like in the movies. Woooot!

This is inspiring. Maybe I should buy the real deal.

I don't really care if it's a nerf gun, LQ is not the place for you to express that you can shoot people in such manners as it's not very funny to me. It's people with that attitude that shouldn't own any type of weapon.

Let's make this a first and final warning or you can lose privileges to this site with comments like such.

Regards.

PS. A smilie wouldn't help in this case either, not on a public forum. You can joke to your friends who know you on a personal level about shooting people but I find it rather disgusting even joking about such things, especially on a public forum and LQ will not tolerate such things.

Well someone's a little uptight today. There's not a single thing directly violent in that post whatsoever. I didn't say I was going to shoot people. I didn't even say I going to shoot them with a gun. For all you know, I could of been talking about making a flick. My bbgun is an easy prop.

I think you need a chill-out time, TrickyKid. Your reading waaaaaaay too much into this. You tell me I should'nt own any type of weapon, but apparently yours are already drawn.

I think you're reading "waaay too" little into your post. And, well, that's just the problem, isn't it, "for all you know ..."?

All I know is this:
"... But ofcourse the star attraction is my BBgun.

Now I can shoot people. Just like in the movies. Woooot!

This is inspiring. Maybe I should buy the real deal."

I think you want to shoot people, too. And that's simply because the last subject specifically referenced, "BBgun", is followed immediately by: "Now I can shoot people."
By normal rules of English usage, you are speaking of using your "BBgun" to shoot people, as that is the last identified subject and it makes perfect sense in the context of that statement. Even more worrisome to me, you then express the desire to "buy the real deal." Again, referring to the last identified subject, you are speaking about buying something more destructive than the "BBgun", and again, this makes perfect sense in the context. You can't honestly expect a reader who knows nothing about you to believe that you were referring to shooting people with the DVD changer, neither can you claim that you just pulled a random thought about shooting people with a camera using the "BBgun" as a prop out of thin air when the context so powerfully indicates otherwise! You aren't hanging around with your school chums here. We have no idea what you are actually like. My initial reaction was, "I hope I don't live near that person. I think he's joking. I hope he doesn't really understand what he just said sounds like. In any case, I hope he doesn't live near me."
Assume, for a moment, that I posted this:
"I got a 50,000 btu stainless steel barbarcue grill with 2 side burners and I also got a 22 cal. rifle. Obviously, the best present is the 22 cal.
Now I can shoot people. Just like in the movies. Awesome!
This is inspiring. Maybe I should buy something bigger."
Would you believe me when I told you that I didn't say I was talking about shooting people? Would you agree with me when I say that someone who read those four sentences can't possibly assume I mean shooting with the rifle I just mentioned and not a video camera?
If you had been more respectful to the moderator, I wouldn't have posted this. A simple, "Gee, I posted before I thought about this. On reading my post again, I can see how you got the wrong idea. Sorry!" would have shown that you got the point. Apparently you didn't, so I'm spelling it out for you at length. Nobody likes to be censured in a public forum. At times everyone who posts on a forum is angered about being misunderstood or misinterpreted. It's because we use words, and words alone. We all learned, usually harder than the way you have the opportunity to learn now, that it helps to read and edit our posts before clicking the "submit" button.

If you want to discuss this any further, please contact me, another moderator or the site administrator. But I stand by my words and moderation of your post. You might think it's funny but I take things seriously on a public forum since A) I don't know you and B) Others thought those kids who shot up their own schools weren't being serious either.

No matter the circumstances, like I said previously, any mentioning of shooting anyone is not tolerated here at this site. We have this rule that states this:

"The owners of LinuxQuestions.org have the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason."

So I would advise you to move on. If you want to further discuss this, do it privately, if not, you can lose privileges to this site if there's another mentioning of shooting people with anything, I don't care if it's a spitball at this time.

Regards.

I got Volumes 1-3 of Battle of the Planets (also known as Gatchaman or G-Force, depending on your location in space/time) and Volumes 1-4 of The Adventures of The Galaxy Rangers (which was, AFAIK, the first production cartoon to combine CG animation with traditional), so my kids can see the cartoons I liked when I was young (at least, that's the official explanation. I'm SUCH a GEEK!).

I also got a fedora (sorry, RH and FC guys, it's black) from my Da, a cookbook and a camp stove from my Ma, a copy of War of the Worlds and The Fantastic 4 from my eldest brother (oddly enough, I never read Fantastic 4 as a kid, I was into The X-Men, Wolverine, DareDevil, The Punisher and The Sandman. Go fig.), and Star Wars: Episode III from my daughters.

Santa gave the family The Incredibles and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

My wife got us all 8 seasons of Stargate SG-1 because Deep Discount DVD was having a 2-for-1 sale.

Geez, but that's A LOT of new DVD's!

What you should have gotten was a book that teaches you how to read. Again, want to discuss it any further, email, don't post. Anymore mentioning of it and this thread will be closed and you will find that you lost rights to use this site.

Regards.

Sweet! I'd love to get a motorcycle and take the wife cruising through the canyons. Unfortunately, she's leery of them, so this is something I'll have to work towards.
