socket: Socket type not supported

hi
we are doing a project on SCTP..
As a first step we install it on our Fedora3 system.
we have the following packages from
sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=26529
* lksctp-tools-1.0.1-1.i386.rpm
* lksctp-tools-1.0.1-devel-1.i386.rpm
* lksctp-tools-1.0.1-doc-1.i386.rpm
and installed it by rpm -i option.
then we do the following as indicated in the site
$cd /lksctp-tools-1.0.1
$./configure (worked)
$make (worked)
but when it come to SCTP regression testing by
$make v4test
we got the following error
./test_assoc_abort
test_assoc_abort.c 1 BROK : socket: Socket type not supported
DUMP_CORE ../../src/testlib/sctputil.h: 137
/bin/sh: line 1: 10553 Segmentation fault ./$a
test_assoc_abort fails
make: *** [v4test] Error 1

SOS plz.
Thanks in advance..

To use SCTP, support for it must be built into your kernel.

sctp is probably compiled as a module for your kernel. Try this:

# modprobe sctp

The sctp module will then be loaded.
