Unhappy [RH 9] Unkown socket type

I've installed th RH 9 and I have a DSL connection through ethernet.
I use the Sagem Fast 908 with rp_pppoe.

Everything runs fine until I do not try httpS pages.
Then I get "Unkown socket type" error whatever the browser is.

I'm a real newbie to Linux and I'm damn lost.
Does anyone has a clue ?
Where should I start to solve this problem ?
