wine and msxml 3.0

when i used wine the install a windows application, the installer said it needed msxml 3.0, the installer told me to install internet explorer or msxml 3.0 to compete the installation.

i downloaded the msxml installer, but the installer is in msi format which i cannot use wine to execute...

what should i do at this point?

thanks in advance

Upgrade to Wine CVS or wait for the next release, then run the MSI like this:

"wine msiexec /i msxml.msi"

Alternatively install native MSI into Wine like you would for Windows 98 and then run the same command.

err:module:LdrInitializeThunk Main exe initialization for L"C:\\Windows\\System\\msiexec.exe" failed, status c0000135

i got the above errors after running the command

You don't have a correct Wine install I guess. If you updated from cvs make sure you were using "cvs up -dP"
