Unable to enable desktop effects in Fedora 12

Hello
I am a relatively new Fedora user, not new to Linux though. I am running F13 on an AMD computer with an nVidia 6200 graphics card. I added the rpmfusion and livna repositories to my setup, followed instruction such as blacklisting the nouveau driver and installing the nvidia 195.xxx driver.
I go to desktop effects and I can't get the menu to enable desktop effects to come up. When I checked glxinfo, it says that Nvidia Opengol needs a cpu with SSE to run. What I suspect is that I need to use a legacy driver e.g. nvidia 173.14.22 to run the desktop effects( I ran them with this driver on the same box using Linux Mint 9). I have tried to find some documentation as to how to replace my current setup with the older drivers.
Any assistance , url, etc would be appreciated

"yum downgrade might help."

Or just deinstall latest and install older version at your will using full name and version of the packages.

"yum list *nvidia* --showduplicates" should be helpfull.

seeing as the " 256.35" driver is the correct driver for that card .....
the 195 is old and the 173 is for a DIFFERENT card ( the old gforce 5 )

100% remove the two old drivers -- i do mean 100%
if you used a *.run driver , rerun it with the --uninstall option
if yum ( yum should have balked at installing the wrong driver) use rpm to remove them
then install the CORRECT driver
Code:
yum install akmod-nvidia
then INSTALL
compiz-fusion
