easiest way, go to yast... "online Update"
update everything for a complete XML files
or before u do tat, uninstall ur 3D card driver 1st
then go to the repositories to redo the installation for the driver.

i am facing kinda same problem with u
it says my 3d card cannot run the 3d acceleration.
most probably due to hardware problem i think.
any body can enlighten me something?

i am using P4 2.4G 32-bit processor.
PX400 Phenix motherboard.
, obsolete Ati Radeon 9200 graphic card.
512mb kingston ddr ram

pango853 what's ur spec for ur pc? that would help.

Never mind Desktop Effects. Use ALT-F2 and type fusion-icon. See what that gets you and go from there.

i type fusion-icon : it show like
* Detected Session: unknown
* Searching for installed applications...
* No GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap with direct rendering context
... nor with indirect rendering, this isn't going to work!
....
..

What is the problem ?

And I used the way the install my x1950 card.
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showth...3&page=1&pp=10
then follow http://forums.fedoraforum.org/forum/...ghlight=compiz
to install the compiz and so on.
But, in fact, I just wanna try the Desktop-Effects in Fedora. Is that so difficult?
I can use it when I use Ubuntu before. The same hardware. But I just like Fedora more. Can anyone help me.

* thx Glennzo, you did help a lot.
