Speakers not working after using USB headset

Does this sound like anything to anyone:

After i plugged in a pair of USB headsets, the speakers wouldn't work.
(neither did the headset)
i can still use headphones plug to hear music and what not. but just not through the speakers.

I tried rebooting, playing around with the mixer and the settings, but nothing seems to help.

Pleas help me. I have no idea what to do from here.

When ever we insert headset, system speakers are automatically disabled.
So the problem may be with "head set". have you tried your headsets with other devices ? check whether the headsets are properly working are not !

yeah yeah.. that's all fine.
but now my speakers won't work, even when i've disconnected the headset .
