Okay, I've searched through the forums here on LinuxQuestions.org and I've tried several things, but I still can't get Skype to work with my USB headset.
Here's the output from arecord -l:

I tried creating this file, ~/.asoundrc with these entries:
Quote:
pcm. !default {
type plug
slave.pcm "combined"
}
pcm.combined {
type asym
playback.pcm "playback"
capture.pcm "hw:1,0"
}
pcm.playback {
type dmix
ipc_key 1024
slave {
pcm "hw:0,0"
period_time 0
period_size 1024
buffer_size 4096
rate 44100
}
bindings {
0 0
1 1
}
}
ctl.dmixer {
type hw
card 1
}

Using the Sound Recorder app, I tested that Linux will work with the headset. I'm able to record and playback, although the recording is a little weak, it works.
When I'm in Skype, I go to the Options > Sound Devices and the only choice I have for Microphone, Speakers and Ringing is PulseAudio server (local). Shouldn't I have other choices so I can switch Skype to use the headset?
I think I'm close, but I don't have a good understanding of the Linux sound/USB to Skype architecture.
Thanks,
Danny
