sound disappeared: Fedora 8, desktop with on-board audio Intel 82801H (ICH8 Family)
I run FC8 x86_64, Linux Kernel 2.6.25-14.69.fc8, Gnome 2.20.3 on a desktop with processor Intel Pentium 4 and on-board audio Intel 82801H (ICH8 Family). Sound disappeared although it was working all 9 months after fedora installation. It continue to work when I boot Windows XP. After reboot Linux sound did not return. There was no change of hardware, nor installation or removal of software, nor system updates from the last time I heard sound till now.
When I run System>Administration>Soundcard detection I hear nothing.
when I run System>Prefernces>Hardware>Sound and try to test all available systems, I hear nothing with Autodetect, OSS, Alsa, and PulseAudio. With STAC92xx Analog I got an error message:
audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink: Internal GStreamer error: state change failed. Please file a bug at...
Can anybody suggest what was happened and how to fix this?
