No Sound on a New Fedora-KDE-39


Fedora-KDE-39 Install on a NEW 64 bit computer.
Using HDMI-1 to a Smart TV, The Video is great.
Have audio connected to the Line-out Green port on back of Computer.
have very low Audio, to no Audio.
How should i have Audio Connected ??

I forgot to add that I have audio connected to external speakers

That is up to you. You will have a sound card in your system, that is where the audio ports on the back of the system are connected.

You also have HDMI connection, which has an audio card. You can run the sound to either, its your choice.

It would help if you post the output of the command aplay -l. That will tell us which card is 0 and which card is 1.

Next step is to open alsamixer, you can control volume and muting on either audio card.

Do you mean you can hear audio but the volume is very low even at max setting? Then it's either something very silly like you didn't turn the volume knob on the speakers or your speakers have high power requirements and cannot be plugged directly into line out without an amplifier. What input sensitivity do they have?

OK, the command to look at alsamixer will be alsamixer -c0 at a command prompt, press enter.

If you have never used alsamixer before, look at the bottom for any MM markings. Any marked MM are muted. You use the arrow keys to navigate between items. Master is the main volume control. See if the volume increases using the up arrow key, down arrow reduces sound output.
