lam mpirun problem

Hi, I have 2 computers, I connected them so I can create a 2 node cluster.
I've installed lam on them, I compile the program mpiHello.c, no errors here.

When I try mpirun N hello I have this:
Hellow, MPI! (0/1)-- master
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seems that [at least] one of the processes that was started with
mpirun did not invoke MPI_INIT before quitting (it is possible that
more than one process did not invoke MPI_INIT -- mpirun was only
notified of the first one, which was on node n7809574).

mpirun can *only* be used with MPI programs (i.e., programs that
invoke MPI_INIT and MPI_FINALIZE). You can use the "lamexec" program
to run non-MPI programs over the lambooted nodes.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

the program doesn't run on remote node(n1).

lamboot work fine, when I tping I get response from local and remote node.

Does anybody has an ideea?

thank you

I've only used Intel, HP, and Scali MPI. Have you tried sharing a directory between the two nodes with the .c file seen by both? What does the mpi.hosts file look like? Are both nodes listed and resolvable if you're using TCP as your protocol. I work mostly with Infiniband so I'm not sure if what you're doing is the same. Also on both hosts try "which mpirun" and see that they both have the same mpirun in the path. That's my 2 cents. Hopefully some of that is helpful.

Cheers,
Nik

Thumbs up

Hi, thanks for reply.
Now to answere your questions.

I'm using nfs to share /home between the nodes.
The hosts file has no problem, it boots with no problems.

I figured out my problem, it was the mpicc, when I was compiling it compiled with mpicc from mpich2. When I installed lam with yum(lam) It didn't installed mpicc from lam. So I removed it and installed from sources(lam) and now works perfect.

the mpicc was the problem.

Thanks for trying to help me.
