Wink how to disable password prompts every 5 mins from screen saver ?

I just installed fedora 13 in virtualbox.
(running intel dual core with 4 gi ram chips installed under windows xp)

I want to disable the annoying password prompts on my fedora 13 every 5 minutes ?

Tried right click desktop and nothing

Tried export TMOUT=3600 on a xterm account, not sure if it is working or not.

Can't find anything in fedora forum.

What desktop environment?

It's usually in the settings menu, not on the desktop.

What are you doing when it demands a password?

gnome desktop, I find out it is the default lock screen that is doing it. Seems like it lock screen every 5 minutes.

I tried changing system/preference/power mgt to 1 minute to see if that is the problem. Nothing happens after 3 minutes.

Change that to 30 minutes.

This is different from the export TMOUT=no. of seconds which is a session timeout. But I can't find out where the default session time out is located anyways.

When it prompts for a password, it means the screen is locked, I have to re-enter the password to log back into my linux xterm session.

Menu :
System > Preferences > Screensaver : Then un-tick : "Lock screen ......"

Or find "Screensaver" in 'gnome-control-center'
( Command = gnome-control-center )

Or use the direct command : gnome-screensaver-preferences

..

knudfl, I realized it was the lock screen that was doing this last night but missed the System > Preferences > Screensaver : Then un-tick : "Lock screen ......"

Thanks for your reply. I think I can close this problem now.
