Gnome panel jumps to the middle of the screen

Hi All

I noticed a strange nuisance in Gnome panel. I unchecked the 'expand' option in panel settings, set a custom size to the panel and placed my icons on it so it is centered imitating a Mac panel. But now everytime I start FC6 the panel jumps to the center of the screen(desktop). I have to check and uncheck the 'expand' option again to set it right. It happens all the time.

Any ideas?

EDIT: This happens only with the bottom panel FYI.

Ok its working fine now, I just updated Gnome-panel to ver 2.16.3

No it isn't. I have that version and it still moves to centre. But your workaround (expand off) works. Thank you for that.
