force filesystem check


so im getting a nullpointerexception when a program is trying to write to the disk... is there a way to force fedora to do a fsck when it boots?

Hi,

As root:

touch /forcefsck

Then reboot. If all is well partitions will be checked.

Most distro's recognize this.

I always use:

shutdown -Fr now
