Fedora and XFS root partition

Ok, I have tried many times before to install fedora onto XFS partitions. The result, a miserable faliure. It won't even boot. But now, I am trying Fedora 8 because it will recognize my fakeraid nvraid 0 and Ubuntu won't. I know Ubuntu can boot straight from an XFS partition but how can I make fedora boot from and XFS partition?

The key thing is to create a separate /boot partition that is ext3. Of course, xfs isn't an officially supported format for Fedora so it's not all that surprising that it doesn't always produce the desired results.

I have already done that. I have only tried it with Fedora Core 6 (My damn Dell didn't like fedora 7. something with the chipset is all i could tell)
Now that I got a new board, I might try it with Fedora 8 see if that works now.
