Anybody else has sound from single channel only (no stereo)
Has anybody encountered sound from single channel only ??
I had this problem after a clean install of FC2 Test3. Did not have it with Test2.
I have checked the mixer settings, hw connections, changed cables, speakers, tried using different sound drivers (alsa, arts, oss), however the result is the same no matter what I did. I can't get sound from the left speaker. The problem is there with all sound apps I tried (KsCD, noautun, xmms, you name it.
Any idea ?

Have you tried other speakers? Try that or headphones and see if that changes anything. I have never had those problems.

I've got the same problem, and I'm running Gentoo 2004.3.
Maybe its something to do with drivers (I've got a good old sound blaster live).

I just had this problem with my headphones. I solved it by going into volume control and turning off mute on the headphones . Then the left channel worked again.
You can get into volume control by right clicking on the volume icon on the taskbar, in GNOME anyway.
Go Figure?
