I am using Debian Lenny--- KDE version. I came across an interesting reference to the PAD option in the wodim man page. It said that some systems had the "ISO 9660 file system read ahead bug" and that a work around was to use the PAD option. Other stuff found on the internet suggested that it could cause read errors on some systems and make md5sums fail to match. As far as I can see K3B doesn't have this set but you can use user supplied options. I don't seem to be having any problems. Should I use this option or am I better off to forget the whole thing? I have used diff -q -r on some of my CDs and they all match. Thanks in advance for any advice or help on this.

If you are making bootable live Linux CDs then you can get (almost?) any Intel computer to boot from your CDs by using CD-R disks. The CD-RW disks may cause trouble with Dell computers.
