Install Debian without recognizing network card

Hello,

I was trying to install Debian on my new computer, I downloaded net-mini-ISO and installed the base system, but my network card is not in the list when I try to install all the full system.

The card is onboard one with Abit nf7-s v2 motherboard and I believe it is Realtech xxxx ( I forgot the model number). So I have a couple of options here:

1, find a network card supported by the base system. ( I don't have one lying around though, probably will need to purchase one tomorrow).

2, download the DVD or CDs from Debian.org and install from DVD-ROM, recompile the kernel and add the support for my current network card.

Or if anybody knows the model number of the this card on nf7-s v2, it will be great too.

Thanks a lot for the help

I believe it's the Realtek 8201BL chip providing onboard LAN for that motherboard.

But Realtek 8201BL is not listed in the network devices list, how can I get it to work? Recompile the kernel?

Easiest way is to buy a supported network adapter.

If you don't have the money, you could loan one, install the base system and then check www.google.com/linux for "Compiling kernel the debian way".
