Install network card with Debian

Hello,

I have Debian 3.0r2 successfully installed, only it didn't detect my ethernet card. So I am going to have to manually install it. I know how to configure an ethernet card and stuff like that on Debian, only I don't know how to get it actually installed. The ethernet card has worked with other versions of Unix automatically (such as Suse 8.2 Pro), but Debian didn't detect it automatically. The ethernet card is onboard the motherboard AOpen MK89-L. When Suse was configured, it said that the ethernet card was AOpen RTL-8169.

Thanks for any help.
