I like debian, but sometimes this "iceweasel" thing really sucks. I am trying to install the fireftp plugin. Apparently, the fireftp site does not recognize iceweasel as firefox.
Open a new tab and enter about:config in the addressbar. Now you're in the depths of the Mozilla configurationfile. Once again: carefull, screw up here and you're in trouble!
Somewhere in it should be a key that tells the Gecko engine how to present itself. It might be in the browser section (starting with browser.<whatever>) or in the general section. I found a key named "general.useragent.extra.iceape" and it had a value of "Iceape/1.0.9". At your own risk, change this value to "Mozilla/1.5" and save. If you're lucky the internet servers now think they're talking to an older Mozilla browser. Note: I haven't tried it myself, so this really is at your own risk!
Hi
Of course I know that this thread is old.
According your recommendation I changed "general.useragent.extra.firefox" to Firefox, but I can'not install fireftp yet, because while installing, check compatibility phase is failed.
