harddisk usage

hi

i am using debian sarge on kernel 2.4, i dont have many softwares installed
but after i do 'df -h' on /dev/hda3 the disk used is 1.3 G. in the last few weeks.
i have installed and then uninstalled many softwares including many kernels.
i also tried to use 'apt-get clean' and 'apt-get autoclean' but it doesnt help.
the disk usage is the same. i dont know what the problem could be. can you
help me. few weeks ago though the disk usage was around 0.9 G, and i have uninstalled
all the softwares i had installed using --purge option.

Well, what is mounted on /dev/hda3? Logfiles in /var/log grow over time, and tmp files in /var/tmp and /tmp can also grow, unless cleaned up.

OK, so /dev/hda3 is /. Then I'd look at temporary files and log files.
