why is it that some distros seem to have everything you want, like plugins and flash, and other distros dont. I find that even some later distros dont have these extras already programed in and ready to use. We are not all geeks and some of us are still struggling to download and get packages up and running.I have just this week installed Suse 11 onto my computer.Have had lots of crashes since installing this distro. I have also dowloaded codecs for totem, and it still is giving me trouble, and...

I am not new to Linux, using it for about three years now. But still learning. I tried several distributions. Started with Suse, tried Fedora some time, then Debian and settled for Ubuntu. Now I installed Fedora 10 and Suse 11.0 alongside Ubuntu (8.10). Not without problems though. The first time Suse refused to let me visit the internet or do something with my email, but it saw my router and I was able to ping an external website. After seeing the new GUI based Linux offerings, I was a bit skeptical. Having once tried Mandrake, I found Linux to be too different compared to Windows and the requirement for a lot of technical knowledge just to do simple tasks was too great.

Well, times have changed and the differences between Linux GUI's and Windows grows smaller. Now, it's quite easy to adjust to using something different but with enough similarities to make life easier.
