Winters here in Florida

Sorry for not updating until now. Been busy!
I have been here in Florida since the middle of October/21. Great weather and Golf at many courses. My game has suffered some since I've been back. Mostly injury related from maintenance on our home. I'm getting older and cannot do the things of past. I had to work on a plumbing issue that required cleaning of the drain. Turns out that a strap broke dropping the main line about 12 inches. Water doesn't run up hill very well.
Therefore I had to crawl into the tight crawl space dragging a 8 inch concrete block with several bagged shims to raise the line to level. Then crawl back to then install a clean out at the sink to use a 50 foot snake to clear the leveled line. I know, why not call a plumber. Well plumbers and other professionals are expensive here and wait times can be days. My wife was worried about getting Christmas dinner done and the kitchen sink was the problem.
Just using the snake was a stress on this old man. Finally cleared the pipe. Turns out my wife peeled 2 dozen boiled eggs an put the shells through disposal along with sweet potato peels. She will not do this again.
I told her my winters here are for pleasure not torture. She just said get a professional next time. MY response back was maybe a few days after a call. She understood but my body still paid the price. At least it is warm here as compared to Central Illinois.
Raining right now but might get in a round in this afternoon. If I do not sit back an watch the playoffs. Binge on some great football last night with some snacks and beer. Her sisters are here but they left earleir for Clearwater beach for a few days.
Back Monday but I will watch the games on MNF. But will have to continue on Tuesday night since we are heading to another course for play on Tuesday morning. The girls will be gone to Stuart for a few days so it will be snacks and beer while they are gone.
I've got 3 tournaments this coming week so I will need a little rest to store some energy and let the muscles recuperate with my TENS unit.
I do love retirement but I do need to keep in shape to be so active. I really do not know how things got done when I was working. With the farm and work it was taxing on me physically.
My down sizing from the farm and moving to town helped physically but I did give up some quiet environment and self isolation. MY animals were my husbandry to the farm with responsibilities to the horses. Major expense(s) but I did love the tasks and having my solitude.
Now I am considered a snowbird here but we are talking about making Florida our main residence. More freedoms and less restrictions with a government for the people.
I spent some time with my daughter and grandson the other night. With covid-19 we were not able to spend time with them for a few years. My wife and I have vaccines and booster to help protect us. But we still are careful as to who we share time with. No large crowds or gatherings with no one we do not know. Both my wife and I have immune issues so we are very careful.
Hoping eventually this covid-19 along with mutants will get under control so everyone can go about without major concerns. Sure we will probably need to have on-going treatments or therapeutics to allow us to live. Get the politics out of this now!
