Florida resident

Hi,
I've been a Florida resident since 10-16-2021 and don't regret leaving Illinois.
I do miss my friends back in Illinois but they know they are welcome here anytime.
I sold my property in Illinois back in Sept/22 and don't regret that either since the taxes were killing me. Plus I do not have to worry about snow here, just hurricanes in the summertime. As a senior here I have a lot of benefits and the tax savings are great. Plus I can play Golf anytime I want, that is if it's not storming outside. I have a lot of new friends here and spend time with them whenever I can. I did go back to Illinois in April with my daughter to see our monument and to celebrate with family. I told everyone that I was happy to see the stone but hoped not to lay myself to rest for a while. I really miss my Anne and the times together. Conversations were interesting since Anne was a strong woman and could openly talk with me. Melissa would always say that I was afraid of her mom (Anne). I would always respond that I did love her and respected her for the caring person she was. It's hard to lose a best friend and spouse. Even harder to be the one to continue the walk through life.
My family is nearby and a short drive to the east at Lake Nona and a daughter over in Clearwater Beach that only takes me 1 1/2 hours to get there. I take the back way to her place because I4 west is a mess around Tampa since the merge with I75. Blocking all the time with accidents so I get to view the country side by using the back route.
It's been a hard year for me, one year since my Anne's death. But I fill my time and keep busy. One good thing out of this is that I've got my weight down and my waist has gone from a 36" to 33" and a new wardrobe to replace my old. Anne was a great cook and I ate very well thus putting on some weight. My Dr says to keep it up since my BMI is correct for my age. I am doing more cardio and respiratory workouts. I bought a ECO bike to ride. My being asthmatic was the reason to have the assist because if I got away and an attack occurs and my MDI doesn't help then I could use the motor to insure my getting back home. We have trails here that are nice but some require one to travel in bike lanes to get to the trails. I do ride around in our community early mornings down to the lake and around the streets to get back home. Some trails north of me but again must use lanes to get there.
I've been thinking about getting another motorcycle but my girls do not like that idea so I'm giving it some time and deep considerations. I miss riding but with all the cyclist getting hit by motorist here in Florida makes one have second thoughts.
I just got Frontier 1G fiber to my home via my HOA. I had to install an eero 6 pro extender to provide service throughout my home (bought a refurbished certified extender from Amazon). HOA also provides me with DirecTv-streaming. I added my own Roku 4K+ to the other TVs in the house.
I've been helping neighbors get installed. Most seniors do not have the means to setup anything technical. I volunteered to help others in the community to get online.
