Back home after extended Florida stay
Hi,
Well I finally made it back to Illinois after having to wait for a Dr to approve my wife to travel after a health issue. I leave Florida after a record May heat record only to return to humid an hot Illinois.
I have only played golf since being back three times. So much busy work to get things back to normal. My lawn tractor drive belt broke. I had to search for a source for a new belt. My normal reseller retired and closed shop since the kids did not want anything to do with working in the shop.
It took this old man at least three hours to install the new belt. I was able to change the belt on my old cub in less time. The new cub requires the deck to be removed and you need to access the hydro pulley via the battery tray. Removing the PTO is a challenge using a impact. The PTO clutch is heavy and awkward to get off and on. Routing the belt requires one to remove belt guides(keepers). I had to keep the brake engaged so I used a short piece of rope to keep it set. I got the belt over the engine pulley by leaving belt off the tension pulley then rolling over the tension pulley to get the belt in place. Closing things up took longer because it was hot and humid thus slowing me down. Next day I was so stiff from all the bending and working on my knees.
I played golf that day and was surprised by my abilities to swing a club were not restricted.
I need my honey do's to get done so I will keep this entry short since I am going to play golf today.
Hopefully things will get back to normal soon.
