Linux Roadmap

Posted 08-12-2023 at 12:57 AM by des_a

Here's a roadmap to my mass linux adoption. Things are NOT easy, but I wanted you to see that I'm getting closer to trying to just use my system more, and go into more of a maintenence mode.

Steps:
======

1) Redo servers, I need to be using newer software for them
2) Redo AD domain controller. This one was built to teach me windows server 2019, and was ALWAYS intended only for evaluation. I need to rebuild it using Linux samba.
3. Start to migrate applications over to linux. The more I can use on linux, the better. It doesn't have to be exactly the same, but I will know what's ok and what's not. I need to learn new skills to do this.
4) Fix standard scripts
5) Fix the rest of the scripts

That's the basics of switching over to linux. I might be missing some steps or have too much there, but that gives you an idea.
