A Blast From The Past

The first Linux distro I installed, dual-booting with XP Pro, was Slackware 10.0 (the last release to include GNOME (Thank "Bob"!). At the age of 59, I'd only been interested in and owned a computer for 2 years. Missed out on all the early stuff. The first distro I had any experience with was Knoppix, but I read it was not recommended for installation. So I bought the September, 2004, edition of Linux Format magazine, complete with Slackware 10.0 on 2 CD-ROMs. There was an article in the magazine telling how to install it, and I can't remember having any major problems. And now...fast forward to the present day, and I've just got it running in VirtualBox.
P.S.
Got 12.2 running in VBox, too. This was the last release to be 32-bit only.

Got the Guest Additions installed in both of them, and managed to resize the display in 12.2 to a decent size, but can't do it in 10.0.

Thoroughly screwed up 10.0 running xorgconfig, trying to get a decent display size larger than the 640x480 it was stuck at. So I deleted it.
