LFA (Linux for All) is a remaster of Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS, codenamed Trusty Tahr, released July 25, 2014. The original system includes the Desktop Environment Unity (Ubuntu). I have added LXDE, Razor-qt and XBMC (An award-winning free and open source (GPL) software media player and entertainment hub for digital media) as alternatives, so that everyone on the spot (during live operation) can compare the different four Desktop Environments. The system language is English.
Why replace version 140326 with version 140411?
To my horror I discovered that some programs (including K3b and MPlayer) could not be started due to various unfulfilled program dependencies. The problems are now fixed in version 140411. Additionally could version 4.8.6 of Gimp not open jpg files. To deal with the problem, I had to install version 4.8.10 (latest stable version) of Gimp from source.
As I still had to fix various software problems I took the opportunity to replace...
CruxEX 3.0 2014 64bit Linux Live USB is based on CRUX 3.0 (latest version, released 130119), which is all Linux enthusiasts/nerds favorite OS. (CRUX 3.0 is a lightweight Linux distribution for the x86-64 architecture targeted at experienced Linux users). CruxEX 3.0 2014 uses the LXDE Desktop environment. I have replaced the original CRUX kernel 3.6.11 with “my” special kernel 3.13.6-cruxex, with support for “extra everything”.

Kernel 3.13.6 is the latest available...
NEWS 140312
A new and much better version of Exton|OS is ready. I have replaced kernel 3.13.0-9-exton with kernel 3.13.0-17-exton. (Kernel.org‘s latest stable kernel 3.13.6, released 140307). I have also replaced Ubuntu’s installation program Ubiquity with Exton|OS Installer, which is a clone of Debian Live Installer. The installation to hard drive is now so simple that a 10 year old child can do it. Watch a SLIDESHOW of the hard drive installation process.
I have released a new version of ExTiX 14 today (140308). Corrected minor errors and come to grips with a problem with Apt. ExTiX is now (hopefully) totally error-free. I have also upgraded all packages to the latest version as of 140308.
