Connect to RS6000 with Ubuntu machine via serial?

Hello All,

I'm wondering if it's possible to set up a generic PC running Ubuntu or similar Linux next to an RS6000, connect them with a serial wire and allow a user (ssh'd into the Ubuntu box) to telnet or ssh into the RS6000 box?

Thanks in advance for any help,

Jason

I used to do that all the time. Use minicom and a null-modem cable. You may have to enable serial login in smitty.
