Xorg and XGL at same time

Is there any chance I can run both XGL and Xorg at the same time? Right now I have XGL to start up with GDM, but I cant play opengl games very well with XGL and would like to have xorg running to play my games Anyway, I tried the command
Code:
startx -- :1
but that just gave me a lot of errors in Ubuntu.
