X fails to start

im sure you guys get this question alot but i need help. i have the iso on a cd and everything so its ready to go. i try to install and its going down the list making sure everythin is 'ok' and then it says

Failed to start the X server (your graphical interface). It is likely that it is not setup correctly. Would you like to view the X server output to diagnose the problem?

I have a MacBook Pro with an ATI Radeon X1600.

Any ideas on what I can do here?

If its before you have installed it, that is while the live system is being loaded, then the there's an issue in your CD (as suggested by a senior member in some other thread). Burn the CD again or check your iso.

I thought that the ATI "X" cards need fglrx driver to start X. I had to install it before I could continue with my kubuntu installation( I have a X1250 )
