I messed up something....and now when I try to log into my user account (i.e. not the root) I get the error message

"Cannot start the session due to some internal error"

Then I get the description in another error message and it states

/etc/X11/gdm/Presession/Default: Registering tour session with wtmp and utmp
/etc/X11/gdm/Presession/Default: running: /usr/bin/X11/sessreg -a -w /var/idg/wtmp "" -1 ":0" "borrrden"
session_child_run: could not exec /etc/X11/xdm/xsession default

If I start in failsafe mode it says

xterm: could not exec /bin/bash: permission denied

I got impatient and tried deleting that account and making a new one, same error.

It is the same error, no matter what name i use for the new account...

Disregard this thread, I fixed the problem

For those who may have accidentally done the same thing, make sure all users have read and execute access (i.e. chmod 755) to bin and bin/bash (or whatever login directory you are using)
