This is actually on UberStudent, a derivative of Ubuntu.
Won't recognize my correct password to operate as root; and the screen on which a regular user can click box to get ability to control the wireless function has the activate button on bottom of screen, and that area is below the lower edge, so can't get to it activate that function. Likewise the control for changing size or rolling the screen rectangle box, also doesn't function.
As everything related to UberStudent depends on internet access, this inability to use wireless renders whole OS as inoperable.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated [not even sure a total new install would fix things].
Thank you Heinbold for your attention to this, and yes I tried all variations: my password, no password, and anything else could think of, but wasn't allowed to be root, or to use su or sudo or get done all things need to be root to do -- especially to fix the wireless non-operation.
